  • health and wellbeing

Board members

Our SHB consists of 21 dedicated members, including:

  • 15 councillors, with one serving as Chair
  • the Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board
  • the Chair of the Community Safety Partnership
  • three tenant/leaseholder representatives
  • three partner representatives

Tenant membership

Tenant representatives can serve up to six years over a maximum of two consecutive terms. The role is voluntary, but we cover expenses.

Meetings

We typically meet every month for two hours. Each member or representative is allowed to vote in the decisions we make.

Investing in you

Joining the SHB isn't just about contributing to your community. It's also about personal growth. We offer tailored training opportunities to each representative. This includes an introduction to Gateshead Council and social-housing topics.

Opportunities

While we don't have openings for tenant members right now, keep an eye on this space for updates. And if you're eager to make a difference now, why not explore joining our Resident Voice to shape and influence housing services.
