Thank You Gateshead
People from across the borough have come together to say Thank You Gateshead as part of the national day to recognise the efforts of key workers, care workers, community groups, businesses and everyone who has helped to support local communities throughout the ongoing pandemic.
Councillor Martin Gannon, Leader of the Council, said "The last year and a half has been incredibly challenging for everyone and yet, despite these really difficult times, we have seen amazing community spirit as people have pulled together to help others, especially those most in need.
"I could not be more proud of the way people across Gateshead have responded to the pandemic and as part of Thank You Day we, along with people from across Gateshead, want to say Thank You Gateshead!"
