About Resident Voice

Resident Voice is a group of council tenants and leaseholders who want a say in how our housing services are delivered. By being part of Resident Voice, you will be the first to hear about different opportunities to make a real impact on housing services.

You choose how and when you take part. It might be reviewing policies and documents from the comfort of your home. Or maybe sharing your thoughts in a focus group, answering the occasional survey, or taking part in a neighbourhood walkabout. However you choose to get involved, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of Gateshead's communities.

What happens when you join

Our Customer Involvement team will keep you updated with opportunities as and when they come up. You don't have to do anything. If something is of interest to you, just let the team know and they will give you more details. 

Flexible participation

We understand life gets busy. That's why Resident Voice doesn't ask for a long-term commitment. We will keep you posted on upcoming activities, and you can choose to join in should you wish.

Qualities you'll need

We want to make sure that your voice is heard and acted upon. We also want a diverse range of views and opinions from people with different backgrounds and experiences.

What's important is that you have a passion for providing excellent services to all our residents and communities and, when required, a willingness to challenge constructively.

Support we offer

We offer a range of support to help you take part in our activities. This might be out-of-pocket expenses or reasonable adjustments to ensure everyone has a fair chance to get involved. Please talk to a member of the team when registering for an activity about what you may need.
