Roadworks on Hawks Road starting Saturday 13 November
To help prepare for the roadworks our contractors, Hatton Traffic Management, will be installing four way temporary traffic lights on Hawks Road this weekend (13 and 14 November). This will affect the whole crossroads where Quarryfield Road and Mill Road meet Hawks Road.
These works are in addition to two way lights further east along Hawks Road, close to the Encore Ramada hotel, and a northbound one way system in place on Quarryfield Road to the south, past the District Energy Centre.
There will also be pedestrian restrictions on Hawks Road, but a signed pedestrian diversion route will be put in place including a dedicated, temporary crossing point on Mill Road to ensure pedestrian safety.
The hoardings are expected to be completed by week commencing 6 December, and at that point the four way traffic lights will be removed, leaving a single lane closure eastbound from East Gate towards Mill Road.
If you need to be in this area, please allow more time for your journey, and consider whether you can use public transport, walk or cycle, rather than drive.
We would like to thank local businesses and residents for their continued patience during the extensive works required to enable important construction projects in the area.
