Important bridge repair works
The final phase of the works on the A695 approaching Beweshill Roundabout is due to start on Saturday 26th February.
Contractors will replace the expansion joints on Summerhill Bridge which crosses the Blaydon Burn between the Blaydon and Beweshill Roundabouts.
The existing 2-way temporary traffic lights will be relocated to the bridge to allow lane closures for the work to be carried out.
The bridge repair works are expected to last for 20 days including weekend working.
This will unfortunately cause some traffic disruption to vehicles using the A695 at peak times.
