Gateshead Council is governed by both the Public Contract Regulations (PCR) 2016 and the Council's own financial limits, as outlined in the Council's Constitution.

£0 - £5,000 ex VAT
Discretionary authority for individual Council services to purchase goods and services.

£5,000 - £25,000 ex VAT
Delegated authority for individual Council services to purchase goods and services without involvement of Procurement but they should carry out a competitive process (I.E., request quotations).

£25,000 - £138,760 inclusive of VAT
Procurement will complete a competitive process, including using frameworks, with advertising via the NEPO portal as needed.

£138,760 + inclusive of VAT
