STWWMP Waste Services
South Tyne and Wear Waste Management Partnership has established a solution for waste services for Gateshead, South Tyneside and Sunderland via a Joint Municipal Waste Strategy. Gateshead Council is the lead authority.
This includes the residual waste treatment contract for household waste where residual waste is disposed of a the energy-from-waste facility.
There are also four Household Waste Recycling Centres across STWMMP and commercial / trade waste collection services. They can also provide advice to businesses about how to reduce the amount of waste they produce and, therefore what they will need to dispose.
