What are Family Hubs?
Gateshead's Family Hubs provide a welcoming space for families to get the help they need on a wide range of issues, providing a 'front door' for families with children aged 0-19 years and up to age 25 with additional needs.
For expectant parents and those with babies and young children, this includes help with parenting, infant feeding and support for parents/carers to manage their own wellbeing.
Family Hubs are also a great place to meet professionals who can support your family - like parent outreach workers, health visitors and maternity services.
Our Family Hubs are based in the heart of your community, see location details and opening times. on your local Family Hub.
For the wider community, Family Hubs can provide advice and support on a wide range of topics, such as advice on getting into work, adult wellbeing groups, help with relationships and support to stop smoking, see support for adults to see what help is available.
Gateshead's Family Hubs will replace our Children's Centres and build-on everything that was great about the Sure Start offer, working with others to provide a friendly, wraparound service for families.
Our centres are safe spaces for sensitive conversations about family life or a place to attend groups and meet with other parents/carers, including specific sessions for fathers.
If Family Hubs are not able to provide the help you need, we will make sure you are connected to the right support from the wide range of people and organisations we work with.
