Aim: To attain Level 3 competency in Safeguarding Children

Learning objectives

The session will enable participants to:

  • Understand the definition of harm and gain understanding of their roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding children
  • Gain clarity of the child protection referral process, outcomes and time-frames, including section 47 enquires
  • Participate in reviewing local and national complex serious case reviews and identify how professionals could have worked differently
  • Identify the key themes and lessons learnt from these serious case reviews and sharing best practice locally

  • Intercollegiate Framework: Level 3 People identified in Groups 3 - 5
  • Bournemouth University Framework: People identified in Groups B1 - C
  • People who works with children and/or parents and carers in a Health or Social Care Profession and require level 3 training
