This Lunch and Learn will explore Islamist extremism including:

• definitions and terminology
• timeline of Islamist extremism
• shared narratives
• use of propaganda and terrorist enablement material

Learning outcomes 

By the end of this training, attendees should be able to: 

• define Islamist extremism 
• identify the defining characteristics of Islamist extremism
• recognise contemporary manifestations of Islamist extremism
• analyse how Islamist extremism motivates terrorism
• make an informed judgement on whether an individual expressing Islamist extremism should be referred to Prevent
