Public health in Gateshead

The role of our public health team is to commission and deliver a wide range of services, promote healthy living and tackle health inequalities.

We promote health campaigns to give Gateshead residents the information they need to:

• stay healthy
• access a range of screening and vaccination programmes
• get referred to the right services whenever they need more help and support

To deliver high quality services tuned to the needs of the communities, we work with many organisations including NHS North East and North Cumbria, Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust and UK Health Security Agency.
