Corporate Events Privacy Notice
Who are we and what do we do
Corporate Events is a team within Commercialisation and Improvement. We are part of Gateshead Council and are based at the Civic Centre, Gateshead.
We develop and deliver strategic and operational events that contribute to the Gateshead economy, generate social impact and raise Gateshead's profile. Events and services include:
- approving filming requests on Council land
- charity fun runs
- corporate events
- fun fairs
- guidance to those planning events, including support by the Gateshead Safety Advisory Group
- managing the booking process for Millennium Bridge tilts and lighting
- music and food festivals
- use of Baltic Square

We collect personal information to understand your needs and provide services. Information may include:

- details of others supporting you to deliver your event

We collect information about you from various sources to ensure that we meet your needs, including:
from event enquiry forms processed by you on our event support webpage
direct from you during telephone or email enquiries about events
Why we need your information
Our purpose for collecting personal information is for entry into or performance of a contract with you. Collection may also be for preparation, at your request, before a contract. We collect information about you in order that we may:
- arrange, book and deliver events
- deliver a council backed service
- process services level agreement
- provide advice and guidance
Who your information can be shared with
Our Corporate privacy notice explains information sharing the Council carries out. This sharing fulfils statutory obligations, legal requirements and service delivery.
If we wish to share your information with other council services or third parties for purposes outside of those listed above, we will ask your permission.
How long we will keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we need to provide services to you. We may also need to keep your information in accordance with legal or other obligations. Where we have no need to keep your data it will be securely destroyed. We keep a Record of Processing Activity (a requirement under the GDPR).
