Temporary Traffic Regulation Order (TTRO)
Emergency applications should be submitted within 24 hours of the road closure.
All other applications must be submitted 12 weeks before the anticipated start date.
Complete an application to apply for a temporary suspension, or introduction of a Temporary Traffic Regulation order relating to:
- road closures
- footpath closures
- width/height/weight/length restrictions
- one way
- banned turn
- restricted access
- speed limit
- parking restrictions
- loading restrictions
Before you begin, you may need copies of the following documents available to upload:
- written confirmation from various companies and organisations in support of your application. This could include confirmation from:
- Nexus
- Network Rail
- Highways England
- Local Highways Authority
- Adjoining local authorities
- traffic management plans, including diversion route, unless it is an emergency application
After completing the form, before you submit, you will be able to check and edit your answers.
Payment will be required before submitting the completed form, have your credit / debit card details to hand.
The fee is £1750 for a standard TTRO and £750 for an emergency TTRO.
You can opt to save the online form to revisit and complete later. The form will be available for 28 days after which it will be removed.
