Who are we and what do we do
Warm Spaces is a response to the cost of living crisis, to support residents experiencing fuel poverty and to tackle social isolation. It is a group of places where people in Gateshead can come to stay warm, meet others and connect with other services and support that are available to them. Gateshead Council coordinates Warm Spaces with support from:

What type of information is collected about you
We collect personal information to understand your needs and provide services. When you register as a Warm Space, we collect:
name
Warm Space address
email address
telephone number
website
social media account information
details of services and facilities available at space and in broader agency
We also collect monitoring and evaluation information and data from you. We analyse this to understand the impact Warm Spaces is having for local people and how best to maintain and develop the network.

We collect information about you from various sources when you register as a Warm Space, to ensure that we meet your needs, including:

Why we need your information
Our purpose for collecting personal information is to enable us to:
analyse and understand the impact of Warm Spaces and how to maintain and develop the network
add you to our online directory of Warm Spaces
The directory allows members of the public to find out:
the name of your venue
how and when to access the space
the facilities available there
how to contact you for more information
Printed copies of the directory may also be produced.
Further, we will use the details you provide to contact you with:
opportunities to promote your involvement, for example media interviews and sharing good practice
cost-of-living crisis information that could help support your staff, volunteers and beneficiaries
information about workforce development and training opportunities for your staff, volunteers and beneficiaries
surveys and requests for feedback, insight, intelligence and data
requests for opinions on issues topical to the cost-of-living crisis
requests to assist with co-design and collaboration to improve and develop the network
funding information and opportunities to develop your services and Warm Space potential
regular Warm Spaces newsletters or publications relevant to the network

If we wish to share your information with other council services or third parties for purposes outside of those listed above we will ask your permission.
How long we will keep your information
We keep your information for as long as we need to provide services to you. We may also need to keep your information in accordance with legal or other obligations. Where we have no need to keep your data it will be securely destroyed. We keep a Record of Processing Activity (a requirement under the GDPR).
