· Connecting homes and places
The Gateshead Local Plan will set a new course for the future, addressing changing national policies and legislation, whilst aligning with the council's key strategies. It will outline how and where future development could occur, areas for protection and planning policies to achieve this vision. The plan is one of the council's main strategies to help make Gateshead a place where everyone thrives.
The consultation period officially commences today and will run until Friday 5 January, 5pm.
