NE Youth - Requesting training, advice, volunteers and donations

NE Youth are looking for support in various forms to help the young people they support, youth work staff and volunteers.

Training

They would benefit from training courses that relate to skills that support our youth work staff, volunteers and our young people. for example; First Aid, Mental Health, counselling, autism awareness and safeguarding courses to name a few.

Advice

They are looking for mentorships for staff and for young people, i.e. linking a finance specialist with our finance team to offer guidance and best practice, having business development specialists sit in on our Business Development Sub Group which are bi-monthly meetings. They would also benefit from ad hoc HR advice.

Volunteers

They are looking for volunteers to help with youth sessions and in their OMP mentoring programme, mentors for young people and require support with their back office function. The time requirement they are hoping for is an hour or two a week. They also have various fundraising events throughout the year and have ad hoc volunteering opportunities to support their fundraising events particularly, clay pigeon shoot, wild deer events, burns night ball and corporate golf day.

Donations

They would also benefit from donations of money to help them deliver certain projects e.g. an employability programme for young people looking for work. Donations of goods such as phones, tablets and computers in good working order to donate onwards to the young people we support to help with their schoolwork or for staff/ volunteers to use. Other things like furniture such as desks so they have suitable spaces to work from in their office. Also seasonal donations, such as Easter Eggs during Easter to distribute to the young people, or items for the free tombolas we run in community spaces at summer events for the young people, toiletries such as shampoo, shower gels and feminine products to distribute to the young people and presents at Christmas time.
