GM Alternative Provision offer a bespoke placement opportunity working with a local employer in a work-based environment. Gaining hands on experience in the world of work.  

They currently have Autistic students, Students with EHCP in place, Learning disabilities and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.  

Their packages are bespoke to the individual and they carry out a an induction to find out how best support the young person and build the opportunity around them.  

Suitable ages ranges 

GM Alternative Provision can accept children ages 13 to 18 years old. 

Qualifications available

N/A. Students can gain in house training with each individual employer. 

About the teaching

Placements are offered as close to the students home as possible. 

Students can attend from locations across the North East. 

Students have to complete a minimum of 4 hours per day, either from 1 to 5 days per week. 

Transport is can be provided. 

GM Alternative Provision are able to provide urgent placements. 

The length of programme can be adapted to what is required for each student. 

Pricing 

There is a £200 induction cost - this is a one off payment. 

1 day placement costs £60 per week. 

2 to 3 days placement costs £120 per week. 

4 to 5 days placement costs £150 per week. 

How to apply for a place for a student

Please call to make a referral on 07948423702 and then complete the referral form.  

Contact with schools 

Schools are emailed before 10.15am to confirm attendance. 

Every two weeks monitoring or evaluation forms are completed on site and sent via email to school.

Insurance 

GM Alternative Provision have current public liability cover and insurance certificates are displayed. 

They also have current employee liability cover. 

Safeguarding 

GM Alternative Provision have a compliant safeguarding policy in place which is reviewed yearly. 

Pre-employment checks are carried out in line with guidance. 

The provision has a designated safeguarding lead and there is regular training for all staff at the provision. 

Health and safety 

GM Alternative Provision have a health and safety policy in place with a designated member of staff trained to Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) standard. 

They have full risk assessment for the premises and carry out regular fire drills which are recorded. 

They have all required first aid equipment in place in line with RIDDOR procedures (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013). 

Data protection

GM Alternative Provision have a data retention policy in place which is reviewed regularly. Staff also receive regular training. 

They have a privacy notice in place that explains how they collect, use and protect people's personal data.
