About
CA Beauty Academy gives students the opportunity to work in a salon set up whilst gaining skills to enter the hair and beauty industry.
The provision have staff who have experience working with autism, ADHD, mental health, dyslexia and more.
At CA Academy they assess each student individually and if a adjustment is required the appropriate steps are taken to ensure the students needs are met.
Suitable ages ranges
CA Academy teaches children from ages 13 to 16 years old.
Qualifications available
Children can gain the following qualifications:
- VTCT Level 1 Extended Hair & Beauty Award (14-16 Years) Qualification code - CO1A2
- VTCT Level 2 Extended Hair and Beauty Award (14-16 years) Qualifications - C02A2
These qualifications combined are equivalent to GCSE.
About the teaching
All training is carried out at CA Academy in Burnopfield.
Students can attend from locations across the North East.
Teaching is delivered typically with a ratio of 1 teacher to 5 students, with a maximum group size of 10.
The provision is open from 9am to 3pm. Students can attend between 1 and 3 days per week.
Transport is not provided.
CA Academy are able to provide urgent placements.
The length of programme can be adapted to what is required for each student.
Pricing
Cost for sessions are as follows:
- £60 per day
CA Academy can provide food for students - this will be discussed on the initial visit.
How to apply for a place for a student
You can make initial contact by email or phone.
There will be an informal interview and visit with the student. Free taster sessions are also available.
Contact with schools
Once a student has began their training, schools are notified on a daily basis to confirm attendance/non-attendance.
CA Academy will also provide weekly feedback along side being notified when a student passes a unit or receives student of the month.

CA Academy have current public liability cover and insurance certificates are displayed.
They also have current employee liability cover.
Safeguarding
CA Academy have a compliant safeguarding policy in place which is reviewed every 6 months.
Pre-employment checks are carried out in line with guidance.
The provision has a designated safeguarding lead and there is regular training for all staff at the provision.
Health and safety
CA Academy have a health and safety policy in place with a designated member of staff trained to Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) standard.
They have full risk assessment for the premises and carry out regular fire drills which are recorded.
They have all required first aid equipment in place in line with RIDDOR procedures (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013).
Data protection
CA Academy have a data retention policy in place which is reviewed regularly.
They have a privacy notice in place that explains how they collect, use and protect people's personal data.
