About

Kip McGrath Education Centre- Gateshead West teach English and Maths curriculum from Year 2 to Year 11 including KS2 SATs and GCSE English and Maths and Functional Skills. 

They can offer small group intervention with a personalised program of study to address the student's needs. They are on the ground floor so the location is accessible to all students.

We have a small staff to student ratio maximum students to 1 member of staff is 4. 

Suitable ages ranges 

Kip McGrath can accept children ages 6 to 16 years old. 

Qualifications available

They offer:

• Preparation for KS2 SATs in Maths and English
• Preparation for Functional Skills in Maths and English
• Preparation for GCSE Maths and English

About the teaching

All training is carried out in their building in Whickham.

Students can attend from locations in the west side of Gateshead. 

Teaching is delivered typically with a ratio of 1 teacher to 4 students. 

The provision is open from Monday to Thursday from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Students can attend upto 4 days per week.

Transport is not provided. 

The length of programme can be adapted to what is required for each student. 

Pricing 

Cost for sessions are as follows:

• £135 per full day
• £45 per hour

How to apply for a place for a student

Initial contact can be by phone, email or online booking form. For students referred by Gateshead Council they have an initial meeting with the student and parent/guardian.

Contact with schools 

Once a student has began their training, they will contact the school a daily basis to confirm attendance/non-attendance. 

They will also provide weekly feedback.

Kip McGrath have current public liability cover and insurance certificates are displayed. 

They also have current employee liability cover. 

Safeguarding 

Kip McGrath have a compliant safeguarding policy in place which is reviewed yearly. 

Pre-employment checks are carried out in line with guidance. 

The provision has a designated safeguarding lead and there is regular training for all staff at the provision. 

Health and safety 

They have a health and safety policy in place.

They have full risk assessment for the premises and carry out regular fire drills which are recorded. 

They have all required first aid equipment in place in line with RIDDOR procedures (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013).

Kip McGrath have a data retention policy in place which is reviewed regularly. Staff also receive regular training. 

They have a privacy notice in place that explains how they collect, use and protect people's personal data.
