About

Trinity Solutions Academy provide a learn to work programme with a strong vocational focus for learners aged 16-19, up to the age of 25 with an EHCP.

They focus on: 

  • Mechanics
  • Construction
  • Health and Social Care
  • Land based studies / animal care
  • Maths
  • English

They are an Approved Trauma Informed Provider and work with children with SEMH, Autism, FASD, ADHD and global learning difficulties.

Learners can access their farm area to help regulate themselves. They can provide overlays, reading pens. Fidget toys are available in most classrooms, small group settings.

Suitable ages ranges 

The minimum age is 14 years old and a maximum of 16 years old on Alternative Provision, 18 on main study programme and upto 25 years old if a learner has an EHCP. 

Qualifications available

There are opportunities for accreditation in Mechanics, Construction, Health and Social Care, Land based studies, Maths and English. However learners are not automatically registered. That is discussed when learner has engaged. This will be at an additional cost.

About the teaching

All training is carried out at Trinity Solutions Academy in Newcastle. 

Students can attend from locations including Gateshead, Newcastle, Sunderland, North Tyneside, Northumberland and Durham. 

Teaching is delivered typically with a ratio of 1 teacher to 10 students, however some cases can be taught with a ratio of 1 teacher to 7 students. 

The provision is open from 9am to 2.15pm on a Wednesday and 9am to 2.40pm on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Students can attend upto 22 hours per week.

Transport is not provided. 

The length of programme can be adapted to what is required for each student. 

Pricing 

Cost for sessions are as follows:

  • £80 per full day 
  • £40 for a half day 

They do not provide a meal. Learners are encouraged to bring a packed lunch. 

How to apply for a place for a student

  1. Initial enquiry via email to Sarah Butler
  2. Visit arranged for young person
  3. Referral Form to be completed and sent to Sarah Butler
  4. Service Level Agreement Completed and sent to Sarah Butler
  5. Purchase order number and contact details of finance dept. sent to Sarah Butler
  6. Timetable issued
  7. Learner commences 

Contact with schools 

Once a student has began their training, schools will be contacted on a daily basis to confirm attendance/non-attendance. 

They will also provide regular feedback.

Insurance 

Trinity Solutions Academy have current public liability cover and insurance certificates are displayed. 

They also have current employee liability cover. 

Safeguarding 

Trinity Solutions Academy have a compliant safeguarding policy in place which is reviewed yearly. 

Pre-employment checks are carried out in line with guidance. 

The provision has a designated safeguarding lead and there is regular training for all staff at the provision. 

Health and safety 

Trinity Solutions Academy have a health and safety policy in place with a designated member of staff trained to Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) standard. 

They have full risk assessment for the premises and carry out regular fire drills which are recorded. 

They have all required first aid equipment in place in line with RIDDOR procedures (Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 2013). 

Data protection

Trinity Solutions Academy have a data retention policy in place which is reviewed regularly. Staff also receive regular training. 

They have a privacy notice in place that explains how they collect, use and protect people's personal data.
