Motivation in Mainstream (MiM)
About
MiM aim to increase engagement and attendance within school hours for lessons and the school timetable and to support young people in the classroom environment and find coping strategies for everyone.
They support students with their emotional needs and mental health in both education and their social lives. MiM aim to understand triggers, mindset and help to change outlooks and reactions to give a positive restorative approach and leave a lasting impact on student's educational careers with continuation packages.
They have various workshops and learning opportunities for both staff and children, holding positive activity experiences for young people.
Suitable ages ranges
MiM can work with children from ages 4 to 18 years old.
Qualifications available
MiM work with children and support them in their current academic subjects set by the school.
About the teaching
All training is carried out at school that the child attend.
Students can receive support from MiM from across the North East.
Teaching is delivered in a range of staff to child ratio's including 1 to 1, 2 to 1, 1 to 3, 2 to 4 or 2 to 5.
The provision can support between 8.30/9am to 11.30am/12noon or from 12noon/12.30pm to 3/3.30pm. 3 hour sessions can be delivered either in mornings, afternoons or a mixture of both.
Students can receive up to 15 per week of support.
Transport to collect students from their home and escort them to school can be provided if needed at an additional cost.
MiM are able to provide urgent placements.
The length of programme can be adapted to what is required for each student.
Pricing
Cost for sessions are as follows:
- £150 for 3 hours
- £50 per hour
If transportation is required this is charged at £10 per collection.
How to apply for a place for a student
Schools must contact MiM directly with information regarding the enquiry and then will need to complete a referral form.
Contact with schools
MiM can contact schools by email, text or phone either weekly or daily to confirm attendance. A paperless report can be sent either weekly or monthly to notify schools of progress.

MiM have current public liability cover and insurance certificates are displayed.
They also have current employee liability cover.
Safeguarding
MiM have a compliant safeguarding policy in place which is reviewed yearly.
Pre-employment checks are carried out in line with guidance.
The provision has a designated safeguarding lead and there is regular training for all staff at the provision.
Health and safety
MiM have a health and safety policy in place with a designated member of staff trained to Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) standard.
Data protection
MiM have a data retention policy in place which is reviewed regularly. Staff also receive regular training.
They have a privacy notice in place that explains how they collect, use and protect people's personal data.

There is a compliments and complaints policy and procedure in place.
