Terms and conditions - libraries, heritage and arts events

Gateshead Libraries code of conduct must always be followed throughout events.

  • Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult.
  • Refunds will only be given if cancellations are made more than 7 days in advance of the event. There will be no refunds issued for non-attendance. Refunds can only be processed using the original method of payment used to book tickets. Payments made online will be refunded automatically. Please call or come into the branch if you paid over the phone or in person.
  • Some events may be cancelled in advance if the minimum capacity is not reached. You will be informed, and a refund will be issued to your original method of payment.
  • Gateshead Libraries, Heritage & Arts will not be liable for consequential loss of travel or accommodation fees due to the cancellation of the course/event.
  • Age ranges specified in the event description are non-negotiable. Please do not book tickets for an event if you do not meet the age requirements.
  • Please let us know in advance if you have any special requirements. Carer tickets can be provided- please contact event organiser for details.
  • Photographs and/or video footage or other recordings may be taken at the event and used for promotional purposes. Please let us know if you don't want you image to be used on social media or in other materials. The Library also uses closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras to monitor the safety and security of visitors. Attendees are not permitted to record or take photographs of other attendees at events.
  • The views of our speakers may not represent the views of Gateshead Libraries, Heritage & Arts.
