About

The Twisting Ducks Theatre Company make entertaining, accessible and informative drama about issues that are important to people with learning difficulties and raise awareness about challenged they face and their rights.

They offer the 'Theatre Academy', where adults with learning disabilities can work as part of a team to develop new theatre performances; develop acting skills and perform across the North East and learn about stagecraft, lighting and sound. They also offer the 'Band Academy', where adults with learning disabilities can set up and run their own band. Participants can make and record new music, develop singing and song writing skills, perform with the band across the North East, promote the band, run a regular gig night in Newcastle, learn instruments and music production skills.

Theatre Royal academies:

• Tuesdays 10am - 3:30pm
• Wednesday All Day 10am - 3.30pm
• Wednesday morning - 10am - 12:45pm
• Wednesday afternoon - 12:45pm - 3:30pm
• Saturday whole day - 10:00am - 3:30pm

Morpeth academies (Methodist Church):

• Friday All Day 10am - 3.30pm
• Friday morning - 10am - 12:45pm
• Friday afternoon - 12.45pm - 3:30pm

The Customs House academies:

• Tuesday All Day 10am - 3:30pm
• Tuesday Morning 10am - 12:45pm
• Tuesday Afternoon 12:45pm - 3:30pm

DJ academy:

• Thursdays, 3.25pm - 5:25pm
