The Sensory Place
About
The Sensory Place is a parent-led organisation offering a network of support to families of children with all disabilities aged 0-18 years.
They are all parents of a child or children with a disability who felt that there were just not enough places to go or things to do when you have a child who has additional needs as mainstream activities are just not accessible for many different reasons. They also experienced judgement and isolation as other people do not always understand the difficulties families like ours face. They knew they weren't alone in thinking this and so The Sensory Place was born in 2019 with a view to changing this for the better.
The Sensory Place offer courses based on the needs of our families, sensory friendly and accessible events designed with the whole family in mind as well as working with a variety of organisations, services and local authorities to make mainstream events accessible to all.
