Student placements

We take a POD of around 5 students per year to sit within the Academy. Here they get a wide range of experience getting to co-work cases from around the service with dedicated from the Academy Team Manager and Consultant Social Worker.

We offer placements across the whole of Children's Social Care for 70 and 100 day placements. Students have the opportunity to experience placements in our Residential Homes, Family Support Services, Youth Justice Service and our Early Help Service. This is as well as our statutory team placements such as Safeguarding and Care Planning, Children in Our Care Team, Children with Disability Team, A&I Service and more.

Students have access to a robust bespoke induction as well as access to all internal training through our Learning Hub System.

A Student Forum is ran whereby students from across Children's and Adults Service come together for peer reflections and to seek advice and support where necessary. This would include students from a variety of different HEI's.
