The SEN Support Space
About
The SEN Support Space aim to provide children with SEND and their whole families opportunities to learn through play, socialise with others and fulfil their sensory needs.
The SEN Support Space was founded in January 2024 to increase the provision of recreational activities for children with additional needs. They run SEN-exclusive activities in and around the Gateshead area but they do not restrict by post code - if you can get there, you can attend! All of their activities are SEN Friendly: reduced numbers, clear information, quiet zones and a non judgemental space! Whilst they focus on Special Educational Needs, of course any need or disability is welcome and they don't ask for a diagnosis. Siblings are also welcome to attend regardless of need.
They also run a programme of events for Parents/Carers.
Sessions vary, however they hold a monthly soft play session at The Castle Soft Play, Stella. All other activities are during the school holidays.
