Overview

Pleasant Place C Unit is situated just off Birtley high street, a short distance away from local amenities including shops, doctors, pharmacy, a large supermarket and excellent bus transport links into Gateshead and Newcastle.  

There is a Sheltered Scheme Officer on site Monday to Thursday between 8.30am and 4.30pm, and Friday 8.30 to 4.30, providing support to tenants.  

Pleasant Place C is operated by a fob entry system and all flats are contained within the scheme with their own front door. Each flat has Tunstall emergency care units, with pull cords and pendants providing emergency assistance 24/7. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. 

There is a communal lounge within the scheme which has a drum kit, dart board and TV. There is an activity schedule for residents to come together to get involved in activities and socialise.  

The scheme has a communal garden area with a chicken coop for those residents who would like to help look after the chickens and receive some free eggs!
