Overview

Wood Green is situated in east Gateshead, close to Bill Quay Farm on the banks of the River Tyne and a local nature reserve. It's the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors, with some lovely walks nearby. It's a short distance away from Pelaw high street with shops, doctors' surgery, post office, and large supermarket. There are excellent transport links in this area, with bus services to Heworth Interchange, Gateshead, Newcastle and South Shields. Heworth Metro station is just a short distance away at Heworth Interchange.  

Wood Green consists of 54 one-bed and 11 two-bed bungalows, each having Tunstall emergency care units with pull cords and pendants. These are technology solutions that can help you to manage many risks around the home, and alert caregivers in an emergency. There is a Sheltered Scheme Officer on site between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday, providing support to residents.  

The newly refurbished communal lounge has a busy activity schedule where residents come together to relax and socialise. There is a communal kitchen area and laundry facilities for residents' use.
