Help us improve the experience of applying for housing

We are constantly looking at ways we can improve the services we deliver, and would like to encourage residents to share their views and experiences on the current process for searching for and applying for housing through Gateshead Home Choice.

We recognise that finding suitable housing can sometimes be challenging, and we want to make sure that all applicants feel informed and supported throughout the process. By listening to your firsthand experience, we are aiming to better understand the barriers you face, and any difficulties you encounter, to make the process more intuitive, smoother, and user friendly.

To gather your feedback, we are conducting a survey, that should take you no longer than five to ten minutes to complete, which focuses on key aspects such as property adverts, the bidding process, and receiving housing offers.

The goal is to assess how well our current services are meeting the needs of residents and to gather feedback that will shape future improvements, that could include streamlined and user-friendly housing process, with higher applicant satisfaction and more efficient allocation of housing. Contributing to our broader goals of reducing housing waiting times, improving resident wellbeing, and ensuring that all applicants have equal access to affordable, high-quality housing.
