Level 5 Specialist Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship

Requirements
- Level 2 Maths and English or GCSEs C/4 or above
- a minimum of 30 hours working week
- 21 months on programme and 3-month window for end point assessment. Must be employed for 24 months.
- 'off the job' training must be provided, a minimum of 6 hours a week
- support from an employment mentor with monthly reviews
- attend full day session every other month and online 1 hr sessions in between this

- coaching/mentoring others (linked to specialism)
- promoting learner mental health and wellbeing
- professionalism
- tools available for assessment and strategies to advance learning in specialism
Assessment methods
- taught session at Gateshead Interchange 9.30am-3.30pm
- observations in the workplace
- reviews to completed by mentor
- professional discussions
End point assessment
End point assessment will take place in the final 3 months, dependent on learner progress. End point assessment will consist of:
- professional Discussion underpinned by portfolio of evidence
- observation of practice (Must include delivery)
