Step into Work: Business Administration

Requirements
- 19+ unemployed and in receipt of benefits
- interest in pursuing a career within the NHS Business Administration sector (Primary and Secondary)
Content
- the programme will last 6/8 weeks and will be delivered on a Tuesday and Wednesday between 9.30am and 2.30pm
- week 1-5: taught sessions at the Learning and Skills Centre, learners will complete:
- Level 1 Certificate in Business Administration (NOCN). This will develop the learner's knowledge and understanding of the skills needed to work in this sector and includes five units; Introduction to Business and Administration, Customer Service Skills, Business Communication, Using the Telephone and Problem Solving in the Workplace
- the Entry Level 3 Award in Employability (NOCN) will give learners the skills and knowledge to prepare them for employment and is made up of four units, Workshop session Action Planning to Improve Performance, Induction to Work, Applying for Jobs and Courses and Preparing for and Taking Part in an Interview. Learners will also create a personalised CV relevant to the sector and gain the knowledge and skills required for interview, including participating in a real life mock
- multiply to upskill learners in their numeracy skills required to work within this setting
- week 6: learners will complete a one-week work experience to give them an insight into the real-life workings and operations within an organisation. (this will be only offered to learners with 100% attendance & successful mock interview feedback). Learners not eligible for placement will return to class and complete a 5-day workplace confidence building programme
- week 7/8: Learner 1-1 (CIAG) to explore and support them with their desired job or career pathway within the sector
- learners will receive a travel pass (public transport only) for the duration of the full programme
- learners will be given a £20 supermarket voucher (during their work experience or workplace confidence building week)
- learners will receive a funded DBS check or reimbursement upon successful employment/volunteering
