Course overview
Would you like to take your first steps into a career in childcare? This qualification will provide you with an understanding of the skills needed when babysitting. It includes your responsibilities to children you care for, your responsibilities to the parent(s) of the children, accident prevention and fire safety. This qualification is also beneficial for you as a parent as it will explore the responsibilities of parenting and how you can support the development of children at home.
Course content
This course covers the welfare and care of babies and young children and the importance of a healthy lifestyle for both you and your children. You will learn strategies to support children's behaviour and learn how to meet the needs of a developing child. You will create resources, which you can amend and replicate at home to support your own children.
Who this course is for
Parents of young children or learners who would like to take their first steps into childcare.
Materials and equipment
All materials will be provided by Learning and Skills tutors.
Assessment
Learners will build a portfolio of evidence which will be assessed by the tutors.

Yes, Learners will receive a level 1 (Certificate and diploma) Introducing Caring for Children and Young People
