90 hours. Additional homework tasks maybe given to research and display supported evidence.
Programme overview
You will learn all about hair and beauty techniques, styles and methods to try on models and yourself.
This course is sequenced to provide a better quality of self-care of life for a learner.
Hair and Beauty is designed for learners interested in looking after themselves and their appearance, or for learners who are interested in exploring a career in the industry.
Learners will develop a broad and comprehensive understanding of the hair and beauty sector.
You will develop knowledge which spans the vocational sector, and related industries.
You will develop academic study and transferable skills that will support progression within the hair and beauty sector and more broadly.
Learners will develop their skills linking in with independent living and PFA (preparing for adulthood), identify appropriate styles of makeup and hair when applying for employment, different types of parties and social events.
The course will help you develop skills to get through life with a broad understanding of keeping a clean appearance.
Throughout the course core skills such as literacy, numeracy and digital skills will be embedded.
Programme content
You can find out about different ways to style hair, how to look after your hair and skin, some basic make-up techniques and how to develop an image, as well as lots of support in social skills to build confidence.

Who this course is for
This course is for SEND learners 16-25 preparing for adulthood, both new and returning learners. It is for Entry 1 learners each with their own individual needs.

- hair brush and accessories

You will be assessed through:
