Jonathan's story
For the past three years, Jonathan has been a Patient Carer and Public Involvement Worker at the University of Sunderland. He works closely with the university's medical students, helping them with their communication skills, assessments, as well as how to take someone's medical history.
As part of his employment support plan, our team meet with Jonathan and the university every year to review how things are going. This is something we have in place for every client and their employer, so we can offer support at any stage of someone's career - not just at the start of it.
Each year, it is a pleasure to hear how Jonathan shines in his role and the impact he is making at the university and with their students.
Speaking about working with the Gateshead Access to Employment Service team, Jonathan said: "I have worked with the team for a lot of years, and they are brilliant! They are always on hand to provide support when I need it."
