Richard's story

Richard has been a client of Gateshead Access to Employment Service since 2014. 

Our team first supported Richard with his initial job search when he was looking for cleaning positions. After securing his first role, Richard has gained lots of workplace experience and used this as a springboard into his current career. 

Since we were first introduced, Richard has now gone on to start his own business as a self-employed window cleaner, which he set up in 2024. 

Thanks to his hard work and dedication, Richard's business is flourishing and he loves going into work each week.   

Sharing more about his role, Richard said: "I am very happy to be at work as it gives me purpose. I'm really grateful to the GATES staff - they helped me find work."
