The Felling Food Network Garden Project
The Felling Food Network is a registered charity whose aims and objectives are to provide 3 day emergency food parcels to the most vulnerable people within Felling and the surrounding areas, together with advice and support and raising awareness on health and wellbeing.
The Network is starting a garden project this year to grow fruit and vegetables. The produce grown will be provided to the most vulnerable people attending the foodbank for food support.
Work has begun on preparing the area outside of the building where the produce will be grown. Last week, over a period of 2 days, Delta North Consett - the King Trust 12 week team programme for 16 - 25 year olds provided help and support in clearing this area.
The Delta North Consett - the King Trust 12-week team programme gives young people experience in working with the community in their area. We would like to thank them for their support.
We will be following this project over the next few months, so check back for more information and to see how it is going.
