Gateshead Awards 2025 - Vote for your winner!

The Gateshead Awards take place annually to recognise the contribution of people within the borough who go the extra mile to help their community and to celebrate all those who make a real difference to the lives of others in Gateshead. 

The Mayor of Gateshead, Councillor Kath McCartney, said "Our local communities provide fantastic support and encouragement to people across Gateshead and we want to ensure that those who go above and beyond to help others are recognised for their efforts. Our Gateshead Awards are a great opportunity for us to thank those who make a huge difference to the lives of others and help Gateshead to thrive.  

"All of our nominees are incredibly inspirational, they show determination to help Gateshead to thrive and they take great pride in supporting their local community. I'd like to encourage everyone to vote for their winners." 

The Gateshead Awards 2025 will be sponsored by Crosslings Plumbers, Gateshead College, Gateshead Football Club, Komatsu, Metrocentre and Northgate Vehicle Hire. 

The voting categories for the 2025 awards are: 

  • Volunteer of the Year - sponsored by Crosslings Plumbers 
  • Voluntary/Charitable Organisation - sponsored by Tarmac 
  • Sports Club of the Year  
  • Carer of the Year 
  • Young Achiever of the Year 
  • Music Group/Musician of the Year - sponsored by Northgate Vehicle Hire 
  • Business in the Community Award - sponsored by Metrocentre 
  • Tackling Climate Change - sponsored by Gateshead College 
  • Armed forces in the Community - sponsored by Komatsu 

The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony which will take place on Wednesday 25 June 2025. The lifetime achievement award will also be presented on the night with the winners of these awards having been selected by the shortlisting panel.
