Council finance

We have a statutory requirement to approve and monitor the annual council budget and set Council Tax. In doing this we aim to ensure that service managers have the necessary resources to deliver our priorities. By law, the budget requirements and Council Tax levels have to be determined by the end of February each year. Members of the public are consulted about the budget priorities before the budget is set by way of surveys and seminars with local groups and forums.

More information about our finances is available in the following reports and publications.
