Gateshead Council's Performance Management and Improvement Framework (PMIF)
Following review, an innovative approach to performance management and improvement was agreed in 2021. The new PMIF has a clear focus on priorities, delivery, measurement, and analysis of impact.
It is based on our strategic approach, Thrive. This focuses on tackling inequalities and is framed around the six policy objectives of the Health and Wellbeing Strategy. It comprises a Corporate Framework that sets out performance against Health and Wellbeing Strategy outcomes and incorporates an organisational 'health check' Balanced Scorecard.
The purpose the new PMIF is to:
- Enable the Council to know whether it is achieving its priorities (Thrive Policy and agreed Health & Wellbeing Strategy).
- Ensure that the Council's resources are being deployed effectively.
- Make both short and long-term effective decisions.
- A whole systems approach - embedded in our partnership working to deliver the Health & Wellbeing Strategy.
Throughout the year we deliver a number of reports detailing our progress. Details of the Council's most recent reports are below, as well as a link to historical documents relating to the Council's performance.
