Blue Badge parking in Gateshead

Your Blue Badge allows you to park in any Council-operated car park free of charge, provided that you are in the vehicle when it is parked. It also allows you to park free of charge in on-street parking bays.

Most of our car parks have bays reserved for Blue Badge holders. You can also park in any standard bay using your Blue Badge.

A Blue Badge also allows you to park for a maximum of 3 hours on double yellow lines or single yellow lines during their hours of operation, but you must display a valid Blue Badge and a correctly set time clock. You must also make sure that the vehicle isn't causing an obstruction to other road users.

You can't use a Blue Badge to park in a bay (in a car park or on street) which is reserved for other vehicles (such as permit holders, goods vehicles, buses or taxis) or where a loading ban is in force.

Privately operated car parks may also offer concessions to Blue Badge holders, but you will need to check with them directly what those are.
