Floating Rocks

Floating Rocks was created in 1996 in response to the newly created landscape in Watergate Park. The artist was interested in the large scale reshaping of the area and the creation of the lake.

The artwork is sited in the settling pool next to the waterfall, which creates a heightened focus of the work. Each stone is core drilled and fixed to the surface of the water to create the illusion that they are floating on the surface of the water.
