How to apply for training
From 1 April 2025, the co-ordination of the training programme will move from Gateshead Council Workforce Development to the Partnership Safeguarding Unit. A new learning platform will be available in Spring 2025 which will enable users to access information and book training for both Adults and Children's multi-agency training. Until this launches, any training taking place from 1 April onwards can be booked now via Microsoft Forms on the following page on the Partnership's current website Training - Safeguarding in Gateshead
Training available from 1st April which is bookable now via Microsoft Forms:
- An introduction to Narrative Practice (16 April and 22 September 2025)
- Effective Child Protection Conferences and Core Groups (9 June and 15 September 2025)
- Risk Outside the Home (ROTH) Conferences (14 April and 19 May 2025)
- Sex Work, Survival Sex & Sexual Exploitation (18 June)
Our Learning and Development Self Service facility gives you access to your own account where you will be able to request, view, amend and cancel your learning and development activity.
Gateshead Council employees
You will already be automatically registered. Find the 'Learning Hub' icon on your desktop and you will be immediately signed in. To access this system on home pcs, mobile devices or tablets, visit Learning Hub external login (opens new window).
Non Gateshead Council employees
There are two steps:
- Step one: First time registration
Complete the first time registration form for non-council employees (opens new window). Upon receiving your form the Workforce Development Team will validate your account and you will be sent login details, this will take approximately 24 hours. - Step two: Log into Learning Hub
On receipt of your login details, go to Learning Hub external login (opens new window) and enter your details. You will then be able to search for and apply for learning events.
