Sensory Room

Sensory rooms provide a safe place for children to play while supporting the development of their senses. Our sensory rooms are equipped with music, lighting and specialist equipment. Booking is essential.

9am - 4pm

Little Movers

Little Movers is an award winning, exciting dance and movement programme for children under school age. Suitable for walking to age 4. For further information on start dates and costs please contact Gemma Newton at chesterlestreetanddurhamnorth@littlemovers.net. Suitable for walking to 4 years.

9.30 to 10.15am and 11.30am to 12.15pm

Baby Movers 

Fun class for babies from birth to crawling and their grown ups. Introducing little ones to movement through the use of song, play and sensory props and a great way to meet other parents/carers.  For further information on start dates and costs please contact Gemma Newton at chesterlestreetanddurhamnorth@littlemovers.net. This class is suitable from birth to crawling.

10.30 to 11.15am

Messy Time 

Exploring all things messy from food/paint/natural resources.  Please wear old clothes and bring spares to change so that can get messy.  Let's use our senses to explore and have fun. Suitable for walking to 5 years.

Toddler Time

Toddler Time provides an opportunity for parents/carers to spend quality time with their toddlers. The sessions include songs, stories, rhymes, crafts and messy play. Activities delivered across the term help to support Childrens physical, social and emotional development as well as communication and language skills. Booking is not required. Suitable for walking to pre school.

9.30 to 11am 

Bloom Baby/Busy Bees

A highly interactive musical class where we focus on babies growing confidence in the big wide world. Encouraging both fine and gross motor skills, teaching body awareness and stimulating your baby's perception of sounds with our fun range of bright props and exciting heuristic treasure baskets whilst developing their social skills with fellow Bloom babies.  Suitable from 6 months to 15 months. 11.15am to 12noon

Bloom Baby/Caterpillar Club

A gentle baby development class that encourages the natural development of babies from 1 to 6 months. Each activity has been carefully researched to strengthen the bond between parent and baby. The class focuses especially on the physical development of your child with lots of opportunities for tummy time to help strengthen the core muscles and develop good neck control. Our Bloom baby development activities aid with colic, reflux and constipation and even teach baby how to roll. Each activity is to music which has been created to aid language skills and teach body awareness. The perfect class for babies aged from six weeks to six months. For further information on start dates and prices please contact  Megan@bloombabyclasses.com

12.15 to 1pm

Active Totz, Bikes and Trikes Drop In

The sessions include 30 minutes of active Totz physical activities followed by 60 minutes bikes and trikes. Activities are designed to help children develop balance, co-ordination, spatial awareness and physical skills. The cost is £1 per child. This class is suitable for walking to pre-school.

Baby Time (newborn to sitting)

Baby Time is a free session which provides an opportunity for parents/carers to spend quality time with their baby. Experienced staff are on hand to offer advice and support to parents/carers and facilitate music, rhymes and sensory play. Booking is essential.

9.30 to 10.30am

Baby Time (sitting to walking)

Baby Time is a free session which provides an opportunity for parents/carers to spend quality time with their baby. Experienced staff are on hand to offer advice and support to parents/carers and facilitate music, rhymes and sensory play. Booking is essential.

10.45 to 11.45am

First Words Together

First Words Together is a free 5 week course providing parents/carers and children aged 1 - 2 years the opportunity to enjoy rhymes, stories and games. The activities help baby or toddler learn to talk and provide parents/carers with ideas for supporting communication. Booking is essential.

1.30-2.30pm

Thursday

Infant Massage

This is a free 5 week course to learn massage techniques and strengthen the bond between baby and parent. The course promotes bonding, attachment, early communication and emotional wellbeing for both parent and infant.  Massage is often said to help with relaxation, sleep, digestive issues, constipation, wind and colic. Infant Massage incorporates massage techniques for different stages of development. This class is suitable for babies from 6 weeks. Booking is essential.

1.30 to 2.30pm

Diddi Dance

Feel Good Friday

Come along for a cuppa and a chat, reflect on how your week has been with your little ones where we will also provide crafts, games and sensory activities to enjoy together.

Education Support Service

The education support service, as part of their role, support young people who are unable to attend school due to medical needs. Support is provided in a variety of ways including one to one tutoring and online learning both at home and in the community.

Autism Information Hub

The Autism Information Hub is available to anyone with an interest in autism - parents/carers/family members, professionals, practitioners, or individuals with autism, with or without a diagnosis. For more details visit the Gateshead Autism Hubs website. 

The Grove Pre School

Skills 4 Work

Skills 4 work is a small charity that supports young adults from across Gateshead with a variety of learning needs and are aged between 18 to 30 years. They benefit from support by an experienced staff team and peer mentor. For further information email Tracey on twskills@gmail.com
